Tuxme.com : Linux For The Power User

With the increase in popularity of Linux, more and more Web sites are being spawned to meet the needs of this ever-growing group of users. The latest one is a site called Tuxme.com. Tuxme, however, is targeting the Linux power user as its main audience. What’s a Linux power user?

“It’s not the Linux user that likes to compile application after application and finetune their system with a new kernel every other week. The Linux power user is the same as a power user for windows. Someone that likes control over their system, takes advantage of most of its features, and have all the software to do what they need to. This site also caters to windows users thinking of making the switch. I’m trying to show that everything you do in windows now can be done in Linux; just as easily.”

I took a look around the Website; there isn’t much available by way of information yet, but that promises to change as the community starts to grow. There is one article on how Linux has evolved in the past five years that might make good reading for those who are interested in a bit of history about Linux. So if you fit the profile of a Linux power user, remember to pay Tuxme.com a visit.
