Legal expert joins open-source screening firm

Keeping Open Source and proprietary software separated from a legal standpoint can be a little trickier than one might think. News.com reports that Black Duck Software has procured the services of attorney Larry Rosen to assist them in keeping things on the straight and narrow.

Black Duck Software, a provider of tools to help programmers ensure open-source and proprietary software don’t intermingle, plans to announce on Monday that it has secured the services of a prominent lawyer in the field. Larry Rosen, general counsel and secretary of the Open Source Initiative, is now also an advisor to Waltham, Mass.-based Black Duck.
