Linspire PCs are now available at Staples.com. Digital Lifestyles’s Northgate L-Series computers will ship with Linspire’s Linux desktop preinstalled. The PCs come with six months access to software downloads through Linspire’s repository, and include 24/7 toll free support, according to an announcement today.

The Linspire PCs are based on AMD’s Athlon XP processor 3000+, and come with 512MB of DDR memory, 120GB hard drive, CDRW drive, CDROM drive, speakers, internet keyboard, and an optical mouse, for US $500.

Linspire ships its Linux desktops on PCs through a variety of retail outlets including TigerDirect, Fry’s, Walmart.com, and other resellers.
