Linux console tips and tricks

When it comes to performing basic user tasks the graphical user interface is a valuable tool. In order to get the most out of your Linux system however you’ll want to get familiar with the console or terminal the Linux equivalent of the Windows command line. The Linux console is a very versatile and powerful tool when it comes to configuring and tweaking your install. The console can be intimidating at first but once you start to use it you’ll find that it gets easier, you may even find you actually prefer using it to the GUI for certain tasks. Here is a list of Linux console tips and tricks that you may find useful. This list is by no means exhaustive and is only meant to get you started working in the console. So if you haven’t as yet give the linux console a try :-)
