Since the days of Mandrake 9.2 Mandrakesoft launched Mandrakemove it was “a new product based on Mandrakelinux 9.2 that provided a complete personal desktop operating system on a bootable CD. Personal data and configuration settings could be automatically stored on a dedicated USB Key.The data could even be encrypted for greater security.” The one limitation of Mandrakemove was the ability to handle only 1GB of data. That’s now set to change with the introduction of Globetrotter.
According to a recent ZDNet article “Clément Contet, a project manager at MandrakeSoft described Globetrotter as an extension of the concept behind MandrakeMove. He said the major improvement in Globetrotter was the increase in storage. The Globetrotter device stores 30GB of data.” You can get the full scoop here.
