Microsoft wins again in patent dispute

Looks like Microsoft is on a winning streak in the patent game. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded MS a victory in a patent dispute with Eolas. The patent in everyone is so anxious about is designed to allow third party applications to work within a Web browser.

“Today’s action is another step in the Patent Office’s reconsideration of the Eolas patent,” said Microsoft spokesman Jim Desler. “We’ve maintained all along that when scrutinized closely, the Eolas patent would be ruled invalid.”
