Linux: How to Use RAM as Swap

I saw this article title and it got me interested right away. I’m happy with the system I have now and actually proud of myself that I have not messed it up with all these how tos on the internet just tempting me to try it. People are always asking me why I do the things I do and my reply to them is always the same, so I can say I did it.

“This article describes the required steps to convert a portion of RAM into swap space. We examine some of the reasons you might want to do this, including that using RAM as swap can be many times less expensive than using most fast solid state storage solutions. Additionally, it can be a lot easier to purchase and implement. Read on for the details.”

Unfortunately I do not have the time right now to do any tweaking on my system till mid winter, but it would be great to hear from anyone that does this.

What Do You Think?
