Screen capturing in Linux

  • No Related Post

Screen capturing technology is not just for Windows users. Linux enthusiasts can enjoy the many benefits of being able to snag video screen shots as well. Two solutions for those of you running on Linux machines are vncrec and vnc2swf.

Designed to run in cooperation with the software from the Virtual Network Computing (VNC) family, each tool has unique features to offer it’s user. Vncrec for instance, actually creates a movie clip that can be converted to GIFs, AVI, and MPEG if its user so desired. Vnc2swf on the other hand, can create Macromedia Flash movies. This is handy if you are looking to embed some footage of a project you are working on into a Web page, or something like that.
