Free versus comercialized - a tough call to make

Computerworld looks at the difficult choice that comes with a commercial distro like Red Hat versus an free one like Debian. Sure having the OS for free is great, but you will likely run into issues with hardware compatibility. I think it behooves most larger companies to stick with a commercial distro rather than trying to save a few bucks.

The money saved on the free distro will end up costing you money while you are paying an IT staff to keep things running as the constant changes that a business faces are implemented into the network. Then again, that is just my take on it.
