You sure can’t tell from looking at their website, but according to LinuxUser & Developer Magazine, Corel is planning to release a new version of WordPerfect Office that runs natively on Linux. It doesn’t really signal a major commitment to Linux, as they’ll be watching sales before deciding whether or not to offer more products for the Linux desktop. Version 12 of WordPerfect is said to convincingly emulate MS Word, and thus may prove more popular than either Open Office or Star Office.
