Microsoft’s secret war

ABC News has asked a question that has entered my mind a lot lately - is Microsoft waging a secret war against Linux? If such a war was actually happening, then slander would definitely be the ammunition. Some of the more common slanderous remarks include;
- Linux is not at all secure and poses a major security risk.
- Linux is not cheap. Despite being free, it actually costs more to implement and maintain.
- Linux is prone to hackers and viruses, because the code is easily available.
There are other remarks, but you get the idea. ABC News also asks the question; “Is this a Microsoft plot to fight back against Linux?” While Microsoft remains dominant, their future is looking bleaker with each passing day. I for one, do think that this is a last ditch effort for Microsoft to fight back against a foe that they simply cannot just “buy out” and make go away.
