Sun is Ready to Rumble

The powers that be for Sun Microsystems believe that people are considering Red Hat Linux for all of the wrong reasons. With this in mind, they are positioning themselves to take them on head to head. Sun will be using Solaris as it’s “weapon of choice” in the battle for the Red Hat market place.
There is no question that if Sun can get their product running on a every x86 machine possible that they would find themselves in a very powerful position. Sun stands behind the argument that the IT industry has been sucked into a “Linux Hype” campaign, but they are noticing signs that this is beginning to die down a bit.
