Several months back, a federal agency released software under the GPL and there was absolutely no fan fair about it at all. Is the software released by a government really public? Regardless, the fact that open source has made this incredible leap into the bowels of the United States government is an amazing thing regardless of how we examine it. I believe this could a glimpse into something that could easily become common place someday. Only time will tell I suppose.
