NewsForge | Macromedia Flash 7 licensing: The devil is in the details
I read a couple of weeks ago that Macromedia was going to release their Flash 7 player to the Linux market. Yippee! Gromet, my Toshiba laptop running Mandrake, has been suffering of late from an inability to properly render flash sites, and here was the answer to Gromet’s prayers.
Well, not so fast, flash. As the linked article states, downloading is not allowed for laptops. There are a couple of other strange clauses in the EULA for Flash Player 7. Check out this NewsForge story by Joe Barr.
