Putting out the fire

Ahoy, gentle readers! For those of you who didn’t already know, we’re on fire out here in Southern California! No, that’s not an allusion to our funky fresh Lockergnome sexy karaoke style (Not now, anyway. That’ll be for a later issue, and there might be pictures. Maybe). I mean it. Literally. The place is going up like kindling on Christmas morning and there’s not a rain cloud in sight to relieve us of the ravages of an ever-incinerating horizon! Well, maybe there is, but we certainly wouldn’t be able to see it at the moment!

Friends close to the front lines have been evacuated from their homes as the fires rage on. The rest of us, some seasoned veterans of decades of crappy air pollution standards, are dealing with allergic reactions, itchy eyes, and other physical ailments exacerbated by a landscape shrouded in smoke.

But you have to admit: it does make for some mighty pretty picture-takin’! (As seen here in mighty photographer Jason’s blog.)
