Learning about Commands, Part V
There are so many references out there for Linux users, both
online and in print, it’s hard to know where to turn. I’m going to
focus exclusively on references that have a nice density of
information about commands, here. Let’s start with Web sites:
- Alphabetical Directory of Linux Commands
- LinuxCommand.org
- Linux Commands and Shell Commands Libraries
- Linux ABCs
- Some Useful Linux Commands
Now, for the books that can help you get started:
- Linux for Dummies, 4th Edition (by Dee-Ann and others)
- Linux in a Nutshell, 4th Edition
- Linux Shells by Example
- Red Hat Linux 9 for Dummies
- Teach Yourself Red Hat Linux 9 in 24 Hours
- Teach Yourself Unix in 24 Hours
- Unix for the Impatient, 2nd Edition
- Unix Made Easy, 3rd Edition
That’s it! What a series! Let me know what your favorite
beginners’ sites and books are, and I’ll add them to the list
somewhere.
Next Week: Back to the distro reviews!
