Stirring things up again …
I got lots of mail regarding the comments on Lindows yesterday. I even heard from some Lindows “Insiders.” They explained why everyone is so tight-lipped about the alpha release “Insider Edition”: because they’re bound by Non-Disclosure Agreements to stay quiet about what they’re seeing. Many did say that, ” … what’s supposed to work works like it’s supposed to.” That’s encouraging. The whole NDA thing is another element that’s tough to digest, though. It walls off everyone, including other Linux developers who might be capable and willing to help.
Are you a gadget-head like me? I’ve been a fan of TLC’s show Junkyard Wars since it first began airing about two years ago. I just love that McGyveresque ability to cobble together something functional from seemingly nothing. Along those lines, I got to watch the first episode of Panic Mechanics, a Junkyard Wars knockoff. Alright. If you haven’t yet ventured as far as the daily webcam shot, go for it. I’ll wait. See, you needed someone waiting here to comfort you after the frightening shock. The new shiny head is the perfect example of what happens when you give yourself a haircut. Oh, I know it’s tempting. Let that be a lesson to those of you who might be tempted. Oh, yeah. It’s always funny until someone puts an eye out …. or goes bald or something.
But the real question is, “Is it live or is it Photoshop?”
