You were not forgotten!

Hiya. You probably thought I’d just forgotten about you the past week or so, huh? Not a chance.

A couple of things are happening with Penguin Shell to let you know about. First, Distro II is taking a short undetermined break. We’ve been after these distribution reviews for the bulk of Penguin Shell’s life and I hope you’ve discovered some gems in the course of reading them. The problem, at this time, is that they’ve left me in a perpetual state of change on my home machine. That’s cut into at least half of my development time for upcoming Lockergnome projects as well as others. The great folks at Lockergnome were kind enough to provide me with a server for my office specifically to meet the development and testing needs for future LG projects. That’s relieved some of the burden. But, given that I can’t realistically spend 16 hours a day in the office, it’s also important to have a stable install at home. So, at least for now, we’re taking a bit of a hiatus with Distro II whilst I catch up on other business development projects in my hours at home.

As noted a few weeks ago, Lockergnome has started its own digital library, GnomeTomes. I can tell you that the program is a wild, unabashed success. As a Lockergnome author, it’s gratifying to see that you find the content provided in our daily missives worth paying for. Along those lines, I’ve already promised a Penguin contribution to the GnomeTomes library. At this time, an editor is carefully reviewing and compiling the Penguin Shell issues of GnomeTomes for publication, hopefully soon. If you’re interested in the content a series of Penguin Shell GnomeTomes might have to offer, speak up.

Have a great Monday.
