Yep. It’s Tuesday news day.
Rather than peeking into the broad Linux/computing world, today I wanted to tip you off to some Penguin Shell and Lockergnome-specific news.
If you’ve ever wondered what a Penguin’s handwriting looks like, you can now find out for yourself by downloading the Tony Steidler-Dennison font. Weighing in at a mere 30k, it’s a pretty accurate representation of the scrawl that flows from my fingers. If you believe that handwriting represents the personality of the writer, there’s much to be inferred from mine.
Second, the Lockergnome staff is working diligently to pull together several sets of useful tips directly from our individual newsletters. Chris the Prolific has already compiled 5 or 6 startlingly interesting packages chock full of useful Windows information. I’m working on a compilation of the most useful Tweaks and Core features from Penguin Shell thus far, and may even add some that haven’t yet been published. Expect the same from Randy and Jake and keep an eye open for an official announcement on how to get these essential computing tips.
Finally, the Gnomdex caravan just keeps rolling on. If you haven’t yet registered, you’ll have no one but yourself to blame when you miss the fastest-growing, most easy-going, info-flowing computer confab on the planet. The list of confirmed and potential speakers grows daily. There will be, without doubt, something of interest for subscribers of virtually every newsletter. So, jump on the bandwagon. You’ll make your tireless organizer Lori so happy. You’d love to see her smile, wouldn’t you?
