Dotproject is a web-based project management suite rich with MS Project-like feature and capabilities. According to the authors at dotmarketing.com, the project has been “left fallow for about 10 months.” That’s a real surprise, as Dotproject looks and functions like a completed project. The features include user management, project listings, a contact list, and a discussion forum, all of which are easily created and modified directly from a web interface. While this file is probably most useful for hardcore Linux project managers, the functionality and ease of use lend themselves to use in nearly any collaborative environment. Even with a few minor bugs, Dotproject is an excellent resource for planning and managing projects on an Intranet.
