Finding your niche

I’ve decided I’m going to devote this little corner of the web to the idea of discovering and taking advantage of niches to the fullest. Why am I doing this?  I’m a big picture person and I often have a hard time seeing the trees for the forest. Sounds a little crazy but where I have been a jack of all trades in past jobs and in my current business that I own I have to keep and eyes on various disciplines but more and more I am discovering we are living in a niche world. When people do searches on the Internet they look for specifics.

For example instead of talking about photography in general I will talk about niches like black and white or macro photography. Instead of web design I will talk about specific technologies like RSS, podcasting, micro-formats, etc.

I will try to keep things in series and discover how far the rabbit hole goes and look forward to discussions about discovering a niche and become an expert in one thing.
