My First Mac

Well as promised I am writing this from my new Macbook. This is my first ever Mac and so far I am very impressed. Everything in the box looks great. The manual is a nice touch, not something I am used to with Windows PC manufacturers. Also nice to get restore CD’s, my last PC did not include them and it became an issue later on.
I purchased a Macbook with the Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 processor, 1 gb of RAM, and 80 gb harddrive. The screen is a nice bright 13.3 inches and seems to fit everything in nicely. I also have OS X 10.5 Leopard installed and it is a treat to both the eyes and the ears. I did find the “Dock” to be a bit on the large size for this screen but did find it easy to shrink it down to fit my liking. I had a USB Logitech mouse laying around and decided to give it a try. I plugged the mouse in and with a wiggle it was working, no pop-ups to install software or drivers, it just worked. One feature I am impressed with is the Mag-Safe power adapter. This power cord is very nice and simple to use, nice touch Apple. The iChat camera in the display is also a nice touch. It is clear, crisp, and easy to use. The Airport device picked up my wireless 802.11g network secured using WPA encription right out of the box, something Vista did not without some driver updates.
I find the keyboard and touchpad to be very easy to work with. The keyboard is evenly spaced and I have yet to miss key a stroke, and Buddha’s like myself have puggy fingers. The Apple remote is also pretty sweet. I feel like I am being treated like royalty with this laptop. I spent $1100 on this Macbook but in honesty feel as though I received something worth a lot more.
Apple Computers has gained my respect and admiration for putting together such an enjoyable system and customer experience. With this being my first experience with a Mac I was thinking that I would struggle for days or even weeks learning the system. So far, it has all come together seamlessly.
Thank you Apple!
