So currently in the hopes to earn some money prior to my kick out date the 24th… T_T… I’m learning crocheting, to make Amigurumi (crocheted stuffed toys), and different types of hats, I’ve already mastered crocheting Berets (took me 6 hours of knuckle cracking and breaking to make one… ow.. hopefully this will all be worth it..) and other types of things like key chains and what not.

Been working on my book, one of three really, it’s a Trilogy. ^_^ so far I have my prologue up and my first Chapter, I think I finished my 2nd chapter, but I need it to be reviewed over by some friends to catch any mistakes first. (Microsoft doesn’t know half the rules it’s talking about). Stop on by and leave a Review if you’d like, I’d like to know if I’m doing anything wrong, if something seems confusing, or out of place, or what I’m doing right, so by all means, leave a review. ^_^

Okay, I have LOTS of thoughts about what people should look for in physical appearance, what doesn’t matter about physical appearance, and issues I’ve had with mine.

Things that should matter to a person:

1. Personal hygiene, heaven forbid should someone take at most 30mins out of their day to take a freaking shower. If you’re like me, you at least take one every other day, one, skin issues causes me to take less amount of showers, two I’m anemic, so I don’t give off heat, which I tends to keep me from sweating as much but I still do my bathing when I need to.

2. How one dresses, I know you should never judge a book by it’s cover, but come on, you’re a mother of 2 with a daughter that you had children prior to getting married with a sleaze ball who left you, and only used you for sex, and you’re going to continue to dress like a slut, allowing your daughter to gain bad influence from the one person that should be teaching them to learn from YOUR mistakes! and in 10+ years, you’re going to be wondering why your daughter of 16, has not only been dressing like you, but has already contracted some STD, or has gotten pregnant… way to go mom… also, what’s up with people trying to fit into a crowd just because how they look! okay I can understand some style, great, I can understand that hey I like this band, or I like this person’s views, and so on, that makes sense, but is it that big of a deal when you could be spending money on clothing that are necessary for jobs, which in the long run saves you more money for things you want later. It is more beneficial to pay for proper things needed now and save up for things you really want later, than to pay everything on what you WANT now, and end up losing your job, and have no way of being hired in the next one because you didn’t buy things that could of improved your chances a: keeping a job, b: getting a job and/or c: gaining more benefits from that job. Things needed include, proper shoes for the work enviroment, proper clothing that follow dress code and will keep you warm/cooled off when needed, and money for transportation, whether paying for a bus pass for about $50/month for all you can ride bus fare, <not that bad, annoying in how long it takes to wait for the bus, let it take you where you need to go, and planning one when and where to be picked up or dropped off… it’s most cost effective and can improve ones health as well if you plan to walk some distances.> or you can pay for a simple vehicle like a bike, for those summer days that you can just NOT SPEND MONEY ON GAS FOR…. or a simple car that doesn’t take much out of your wallet. Who cares what you look like, you get to rub into their faces that you make more money than them. Sorry this one was so long…

3. Ones self attitude, it’s fine to be yourself around friends, but when you’re in public, looking for that potential date, job, friend or whatever, don’t go around acting your better than everyone else… my god, people like that make me want stab them! This may not seem like a physical thing, but you can tell from one’s physical expression normally what that person is like. NO ONE LIKES A SNOB! NO ONE LIKES A BULLY! NO ONE LIKES A KNOW IT ALL! The snob gets beaten up by the bully, the bully is outsmarted by the know it all, and the snob pays the cops to arrest the know it all.. what a vicious cycling mess that no one wants to clean up… great job…

4. Okay this one may seem slightly mean or disrespectful and honestly it’s not meant to be. but this is for all those who are WAY OVER WEIGHT, OR WAY UNDER WEIGHT, to an unhealthy point, you don’t even have the energy to take care of your own body, don’t ask anyone else to take care of it for you! I can understand like in my condition, I’m underweight, I hate being this little, small, weak, whatever you want to call it, I’ve been trying my damn hardest to gain weight for the past 10+ years, and to no success… I’m am going on 23 years old in August, and I weigh less than a 12 year old!, my 14 year old niece is taller than me by 1 inch and weigh her average and healthy amount, and that’s more than me! I’m less than 80 lbs now… I’ve eaten more than my 400lb friend and not gain an ounce, I’ve tried exercising to gain muscle, not only did I become weaker, but I lost more weight in that process, I tried not doing anything for a year.. literally, all I did was eat, sleep and shit… and I STILL LOST WEIGHT… no matter what I did not would work, my brother gotten one of those powder drink things whatever their called, and it was suppose to help me gain weight, he put in not only double the dosage, but even triple the amount, and I was still losing weight. This is HIGH METABOLISM folks!…. dangerously high! I can’t do anything about, I can’t stand people that say “Oh, I’m weigh this much and my goal is this much and I can’t reach it.”… well… have you tried anything to help yourself reach it.. “no…. ” then too fucking bad, you’re own problem, if you answer yes, then hell I’d be more than happy to give you a push. I’m proud of my 400lb friend who actually now weighs less than that and has been exercising and eating healthier, I told him “you need to stop letting other’s bring you down, and prove them wrong.” From what I hear, he started to go out for walks around the block, start doing some weight lifting, and from there he was gaining more energy to do things on his own, every once in a while he needs a call and be asked “hey did you go for your daily walk today?” and he’ll be like “no, but I am just about ready to, thank you for reminding me.” I can understand that these methods don’t work on everyone, sometimes you have to try everything till you can find something that works best for you, but honestly, you don’t even bother trying to help your self, what are you really expecting the reaction from other people when they look at you, it’s not going to even be pity.

Things that SHOULDN’T matter:

1. This is my opinion, but I can’t stand make-up, a: it’s a waste of money, b: it causes your skin to age faster… isn’t the whole point of make-up to make you look younger, and yet, it’s causing you to buy more of it’s products in the process, yet again waste of money. and c: for me, it doesn’t do anything, one i haven’t aged since I like.. 11 years old.. I mean, sure I gave different responses about how old I look, but the youngest that I still hear today, was 11 years old. Make-up just makes me look like shit. like a child prostitute, that’s what it reminds me of…. The only time I’ll ever make an exception for this, is if it’s for an special occasion like a wedding, family reunion, being awarded something, you know that type of crap. That is by far the only times I’m going to actually wear make-up, I don’t even like the idea of wearing make-up for a date, cause, really, if you plan on being with this person, why are you lying to them now? I consider Make-up a lie covering who you really are, your own natural beauty, I hate it when people sell me a product that says “it enhances your natural beauty”… BULL, the WHOLE PART OF IT BEING NATURAL IS THAT! NATURAL!!!!! YOU DON”T ENHANCE SOMETHING THAT CAN’T BE ENHANCED! What the hell?

2. I don’t really understand why people have to go out of their way to look nice for something that isn’t really what your there for, for example, when you’re working at let’s say a factory, why are you wearing things that you’re trying to look “sexy”/ “hot” in when a: you’re not able to date anyone while working with them, or even the customers for that matter, b: it’s costing money that isn’t at all beneficial to you, c: you look like you care too much about your looks more than you would about being paid the next day, d: you’re giving off the wrong message to your employer’s, fellow employees, or even in some cases the customers. In this same comment I’d like to add, WHY ON EARTH ARE CERTAIN PLACES THAT APPARENTLY HIRE FOR LOOKS, are hiring people that are not that appealing? For example, I went to apply to work at cafe`, and they told me I “don’t have the boobs for the job”… and I instantly responded “funny, I don’t recall apply to hooters….” and then I’m looking around, and seeing who they do hire, not only are they foreigners, but also, to be nice about it… they can’t even squeeze between the isles…. yeah, that place was so hiring for appearance… right….. anyone else catching the sarcasm here? not only was that discrimination, there was nothing I could do about it, considering it’s a privately owned restaurant, and could easily said they wouldn’t hire me for some other reason, which isn’t hard to pick a reason, I don’t have a driver’s license, I don’t have a college degree, and I don’t have 2+ years of experience working anyplace, and now, great, I get to add BAD CREDIT SCORE to the list, yes, jobs around here now look at your credit score to make sure you don’t become a thief…. sad really, if I had a job, I wouldn’t have a bad credit score to begin with….

Issues I’ve had with my physical appearance:
1. well, you already know about the boob issue, and the weight issue, let me get into my age issue. Now I got some funny stories, and some repeatingly irritating stories about this one.

a: when I was applying to a Jet’s Pizza in my area, I was about 19 at the time I believe, and I asked if they had any jobs opened that I could apply to. “Sorry, you have to be at least 16 to work here, and we’re only hiring for driver’s so you’d have to be 18 at that…” I told him that I was actually older, and he didn’t believe me, I showed him my ID, and he was shocked, felt so bad, not only did I get a free large pizza out of the situation, but to this day if the manager is in a good mood and sees that I’m in person ordering something, he gives me a discount. Awesome, free food…. mm… cheese bread..

b: Went into a store to buy a lighter for my candles, clerk behind the counter insisted that I needed ID to by a lighter… when the hell did this happen? I can see cigarettes (EWWWWW!!!!!), I can see for alcohol, which is okay but I’m allergic to so that’s pointless…. I showed her my ID, she insisted it was fake and was going to call the police. “Okay, then fine, call the police, but if they tell you that it’s real, then I get this lighter for free… is that camera on?” she not only acknowledge the statement, agreed to it, but confirmed that I had a verbal contract with her ON CAMERA! Officer comes in “It’s real you stupid fuck”.. “great I get the lighter for free now.” the clerk tried to argue, and I pointed out to the officer about the verbal agreement, and the camera that recorded it all, officer smiled and said “she gets the lighter for free…that’s for wasting my time.”

c: oh god, this is irritating as hell, me and an ex-friend of mine was walking me home one night, 2am in the morning, apparently there’s some curfew for individuals that are under 18 at about 11pm I think, anyway, we were walking down the street, to our right was the busy road, which was like… empty, and coming up ahead was a side street that had a stop sign, we not only had the right of way, but we looked in all directions before crossing, because around my area, people don’t know the word “stop”…. I swear I’m in the ghetto… anyway, so there’s this bar to our left, and a police car pulls out of no where at 50 mph nearly hitting us, and pulling us over stating that, I’m underage out after curfew, Jay-walking, without a right of way, with a pedophile…. okay so the guy had 1 out of 4 right… but he wasn’t considered a pedophile when he’s walking with someone OLDER THAN HIM! the two officers were OBVIOUSLY DRUNK.. and allowed 5 speeding cars to go right by us without making one report about it, while the entire time questioning us… really they had no right… so I was sick of being questions and the officer threatening to place me under arrest… “I believe my cousin the ***** county sheriff, plus, my two family attorneys ***** ******** and ****** ******, PLUS my god father JUDGE *****, will say otherwise….” instantly the officers backed off. but it’s really irritating to walk home at night and constantly being pulled over for walking after hours while looking underage…..

d: This is for every time I’ve worked some place, and still get considered for being underage, when I used to work Drive-Thru, oh god the horrid days of fast food… every time I ever had anyone ask me out, whether they were around my age or even 60+ years old, I asked them all, how old did they think I was. and just about every one of them replied, either a: at least 16 to work here. or b: 16? you just started working here right? and I smile and say “You’re a pedophile, why on earth would I be interested in you?” and even then , when I’m just walking down the street, I get asked out, by people who think I’M YOUNGER THAN 16?!….. so if I have a job, oh, she’s 16, just walking down the street, she’s not old enough to work…. thanks, now if only I gotten $5 for every time someone thought I was underage, I wouldn’t have to work….

e: this past Holloween, oh my god, I was going out with my 4th ex at the time, I dressed up.. well.. actually I didn’t have to, I look under age anyway.. LOL, and he wore his work shirt, that states on it that he works at the boys and girls club with 6-18 year old children… he also accidentally gotten tooth paste on his shirt the night before and that looked bad… Not did he look like a pedophile, but he looked about the age of 30… okay, so you have the pedophile costume with a girl that looks like she’s 11-16… somewhere in between there, either way it looked bad… the shock I seen on peoples faces when I pointed out that I’m older than him…… and anyone that actually realized the truth said “my god, that deserves candy, here have some extra.”

f: going to get my new glasses, this was for my 22nd B-day, first day to get the exam, me and my mother walk in and my mother is filling out her insurance info, (it was my birthday gift), and she states “you could be filling some of this out” and the women behind the counter stated “no she would have to be at least 16 to either know any of that info or have proof of that info.” me and my mother both responded that I was 22 at the same time… the women and ALL OF THE ROOM THAT HEARD US, stared at me…. all I can say is.. omg… is it truly that unbelievable? (smack forehead with palm.) second visit was to pick up my glasses, my dad was with me this time, frames were already paid for and everything it’s just to go in to make sure they fit properly and what not. So I’m sitting at the table waiting for the lady to come by with my glasses, and as she places them on. “so how’s school? these must make you get laughed at a lot, why are you tried to look so much older.” and I responded “college life is fun, actually most guys think I’m sexy in them, and I try to look a little older so I don’t have to constantly pull out my ID to bars and cops… thank you for your flattering comments.” …. she was shocked jaws dropped, she nearly dropped my glasses, and she was like “I wasn’t complimenting” and I said “I know, I said comment not compliment.”….

Everyone says they are trying to look older, and then complain when they get older they wish they were younger or younger looking, I say, ENJOY THE YOUTH WHILE YOU HAVE IT AND STOP COMPLAINING!

Okay, I’m done ranting for now, any thoughts, by all means, make a post. ^_^

So, I’ve been job hunting for at least two years, sure I managed one or two jobs within that time, but I end up being fired within two weeks for no apparent reasons.

When I first was graduating from High School in 2004, I had a job at Meijers, which I highly enjoyed, I had no issues, no problems, I worked in multiple departments, and I was constantly complimented on my hard work. but as soon as my brother quit from being stuward rep. I was laid off, it was around 6 months into the job and around Jan. that I was officially laid off from Meijers, and officially kicked off the employment list about another 6 months later, I kept trying to get into another department to do more work, but every time I went to my team leader, he said go to the general manager, then the general manager said go to my team leader, and as you can see I was just given the run around the entire time.

I then started working at a Burger King not too far from my house, beginning of Feb. 2005 and lost my job in June of 2006, I worked there for over a year doing my job, no complaints, no issues, great customer service, and all I gotten was a 5 cent raise, during this time my ex friend was working there as well, he didn’t do his job what so ever, annoyed everyone, always was late or didn’t even show up, but he ends up with an over $1 raise within the 3 months he was working there… what the? how does he get a raise by being lazy, and I work my butt off and I don’t even get insurance? I get nothing…

Later I found out he was hired at the Meijers I used to work at (I still had friends in specific departments there). again, he did nothing, infact, he had damaged good in a rage of temper, and threaten the managers, but he got to keep his job for over a year, and still gotten paid more than me… Does this seem fair to you?

Then I was working out in another county, one county that was actually willing to hire me, I started out at a place called Dressbarn, it was this past year in 2007 (I know it’s 2008 now I just wanted to make that clear), it was close to Easter time, and they had stock in that needed to be put up, it was suppose to take me a week, I finished in the first day in 5 hours… and I ended up being fired one week later, because I actually did my job, with no complaints, yet again, no issues, yet again, great customer service.

Then I started working at a Lazer Tag place called Zap Zone. As usual, I’m doing my job, I’m doing the most work I can do, with no problems, I was constantly getting compliments from the customers. But I still ended up fired, for three different reasons that didn’t add up, and why would you fire someone that actually is doing their job and bringing back the customers. What am I, cursed?

Finally, the last job I had, was at a framery shop called Framery One. The owner herself said I was the most perfect worker she’s ever seen, quick at picking up the skills needed, fast learner, hard worker, gets the job done and if not earlier, on time. She specifically said to me “I can’t understand why anyone would want to let you go”… well, finally I gotten fired from that job, or I quit, that is little questionable considering one day she came in screaming and ranting for no apparent reason with razors in her hands telling me to leave….. Was I fired, possibly, Did I quit cause I didn’t want to return to a lunatic, definitely.

I’m disparate for a Job, but not one that’s going to cost me my life, or any that would cause me to feel ashame of my morals, like being a striper, I don’ fell comfortable with the idea of waving my body around for perverts to watch and grope at. Am I going to find a Job in Michigan that I can keep? More than likely not… no matter how much I want to…. for whatever reason, me being considered “perfect” in the work place (this is just what I’ve been told everywhere I go), isn’t good enough… when did the definition of perfect mean not good enough? Worst part is, everywhere I go now requests that I have a driver’s license, which I can’t unless I have the money to take and then pass the test, a college degree, which I can’t finish unless I have money, and yes I’ve tried financial aid, I’m denied every amount of money that I could ever possibly qualified for cause of some stupid reason they bring up to make sure I can’t qualify it for, really it’s a waste of my time trying, or the reason why no one will hire me, is cause I don’t have the 2+ years of experience in the job that I want to apply for…. now, how the hell am I suppose to gain that experience without the/a job!?

I swear, Michigan is just full of excuses, but I’m stuck here, with no money, $3000 in debt, and there’s nothing I can do about it. So nice to know that my family would rather see me dead, or selling my body just so they get have money than to ever try to (dare I say) “HELP” me…… (rolls eyes), maybe I should murder them, one: Jail life is definitely shelter, food, and a place that I could probably live longer, and two: I get rid of the abusive bastards that have tormented me for the past 22 years of my life. How’s that for logical thinking?

Well, hello all, I’m actually new to blogging, and hope to express my opinions here, along with the ability of getting my business known. Something about me: um, well, I’m currently a starving artist, in all literal terms.  I am currently building a website online for my business, which is basically art and crafts, hint my name Leona’s Crafts, that is the name of my business, though my name is not Leona, I choose that name for a reason. Leo’s in the zodiac are known to be loyal, stubborn, passionate, prideful, and are very good leaders. I’m female, so in my past experiences, I chosen Leona over just saying Leo, to not confuse people with my gender. My real name by fact is Jill, and just saying Jill’s Crafts, doesn’t roll off the tongue too well. Jill means Sweetheart in the dictionary, it also means girl in Latin, it just seems too soft for a business name, so I took my zodiac sign to my advantage. Can you blame me?

My Business as I said is basically arts and crafts. What I do is whatever a client needs/wants, if they need decorations made for the holidays, I get supplies together and make the decorations to their standards, if they want a portrait done, they send me the picture they want done, and I make the portrait the way they want it. Anything and Everything. IF for whatever reason I’m unable to do a specific craft, I will more than likely have connections to someone who can. I also do murals, but only to places within transportation, and at the moment, my means of transportation is walking, so 5 miles at most. My business is helpful to those that are searching for something specific, that for whatever reason they can’t find, or don’t have the time to “shop around” for it.

The only info I need are:

Name of my client. (this helps me keep everything in order in separate folders).

DETAILED info on the project they are requesting for: materials, colors, specific media, and form. This also includes what materials should be avoided to cause any allergic reactions. I myself am allergic to latex and alcohol of any type. But I have the means to work around this.

A down payment on the project, but this would be specified later when I find out the cost of materials, and shipping. All payments will be requested to be done through Paypal, till I’ve earn enough to open a store. I don’t trust sending payments through mail.

Once the craft is fully done for the client, I double check to make sure that a: they know that it’s fully done, and b: it meets to their standards, I’m not going to force them to pay something they hate. It was bad enough they paid for the material to make it. Once they are satisfied with the finish project,  a bill is sent through Paypal to the email address given, for shipping and well, I can’t make due with business without profit now can I? normally this would only be approx of same cost of the materials, and a little extra for the work put into it, if the client so chooses to insist on paying more, there is a donation section on my website.

Once the full payment has transferred, I can finally send the craft/project through mail (or if the project is a web design/art, then I’ll remove the top layer of my signature so it can be legally used, and sent via file). For the time being, I’m unable to do web art, till I’ve obtain the supplies necessary for it… (ex: Tablet).

If for whatever reason, the client was not satisfied with the craft mailed to them because of discoloration, or (repairable) pieces had been damaged during delivery, they may send it back for free repair, the only thing needed to be paid for is shipping both ways. I know sometimes it’s hard to see the right color over an image that wasn’t what someone thought it was, this can because of poor quality on monitor viewing the picture, or the scanning/camera malfunctions itself. (I of coarse will do what I can to make it as clear and close to exact replica of the real deal as I can), sometimes the color that was wanted was wrong to begin with cause it didn’t fit in with the other decor, this does happen, and can easily be fixed. damage on the other hand is a little harder to decipher, if the damage is non-repairable, (I have to evaluate it myself, must be sent back), one of two things can be done, I can remake the entire craft with a minor cost for any materials needed (normally I’d have left overs), or the client may receive a full refund of the amount on the bill for the craft.

Certain businesses can request for a full year contract of doing holiday decorations, and the contract will involved promoting and advertising my business, (this includes for murals, that my signature must be visible for all to see, donating to my business a specific amount that will be negotiated on, and even arrangements of services if money is not an option, ex: dentistry, computer services, etc. )

I also wanted to mention that though all payments are through Paypal, the payee doesn’t need a Paypal account to use it.
