Everybody’s favorite free-speech advocates, the church of Scientology (as opposed to Frank Zappa’s church of Appliantology), have used the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to take down over four thousand videos critical of Scientology.
The Electronic Freedom Foundation doesn’t take this crap lying down and will more than likely sue to stop it.

This means that if you are accused of pirating music, your computer can be seized.

A federal judge in New york has ruled that the RIAA cannot sue people for simply making copyrighted music available for download. Rather, the recording industry needs to demonstrate that someone has actually downloaded the file. Otherwise, it’s not clear that a crime actually took place.
