shopping with multiples…

Dissociative Identity Disorder, aka multiple personality disorder, is not generally known as a positive thing.  This is due to how it was created: extreme childhood trauma, generally sexual.  So it’s a blessing to the survivor because it allowed them to survive horrific abuse but it has its complications.
You can read about DID/MPD at many websites. […]

bad behavior insulators

I’ve paid attention to how things work ever since I was little. My mother tells me that when I was as young as two, I would go to relatives’ houses and take apart their vacuums. This may explain my almost pathological avoidance of that device these days - who knows? I […]

kill the commie bastards!

The Pentagon has been developing a raygun which can harmlessly repel enemies by causing a burning sensation in the top layer of the skin. However, according to CBS’s 60 Minutes, the military is unwilling to actually trust this weapon enough to deploy it in Iraq. 60 Minutes: Pentagon’s raygun demonstrated on mock protesters

“This state is characterized by megalomania and delusions of grandeur. Those afflicted often believe they are the Messiah, Jesus or the Mahdi, depending on their religion and sect. They attempt to reconcile Jews and Palestinians, speak to God and genuinely believe he answers them.”

you’re sick and here’s why….

a virtual relative

I have an online sister with a really interesting blog. It covers Dissociative Identity Disorder, schooling, and what to do with a lot of education with not a lot of commercial potential (and serious temporal displacement).
It’s called Delightfully Scattered Thoughts and can be found at:

And while we’re doing plugs, don’t forget to visit the […]

brief medical rant

Heaven forbid you have a not-too-common disorder, illness, or mental condition. The medical system is not a very open-minded organization as a whole.
The doctor I used to work for poo-pooed chiropractors. It is only recently that chiros became covered by insurance.
My wife has fibromyalgia. Most docs will tell you it doesn’t exist.
Won’t […]
