Only half correct, I fear. Just don’t make it taboo and kids won’t want to do it.

Actually, you can stop reading the newspaper, turn off TV, let your answering machine fill up, let your cell phone battery die, drop your blackberry down the sewer, not pay your broadband bill, void your laptop warranty, and believe it or not, the earth will still keep spinning. Your being in touch with the current affairs of the rest of the world are, on average, just that important.

The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded by an organization that promotes peace. There seems to be not much else on its agenda. But I don’t discount human nature. I do consider the list of laureates which on the whole honors people who should be honored.
The deadline for submission was February 1. Apparently, the committee considered events prior to February 1.
“The Nobel Peace Prize goes to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”
“He got the prize because he has been able to change the international climate. Some people say, and I understand it, isn’t it premature? Too early? Well, I’d say then that it could be too late to respond three years from now. It is now that we have the opportunity to respond, all of us.” — Nobel committee Chairman, Thorbjoern Jagland
People who are not approved by the Nobel Foundation, according to a strict set of rules set down by Alfred Nobel, don’t have a say about their decisions, but opinions are free..
