Fort Meyers, Florida, resident Scott Janke had it all: a great life, a nice climate, a $105,000 per year job as a beach manager, and a beautiful wife.

Well, that is to say Mr. Janke had a great job. Town Council members called an emergency session and fired Scott without cause the other night.

What upset the council so? Mrs. Janke, otherwise known as Jazella Moore [NSFW], is a porn star.

For some reason, Town Council found this objectionable.

Ms. Moore’s website indicates she was a victim of a religious education in Portugal, deciding instead to become a “priestess of the erotic arts”.

Council cited negative reaction and publicity as one reason for the firing. Somehow I don’t think Mr. Janke’s job was affected in any way by his wife’s occupation, except for the fact that she probably outearned him. If anything, this should make the area more popular - and what council doesn’t want more popularity (income)?

If I were a resident of Fort Meyers, I’d have the entire council up on charges of fiscal irresponsibility. Because they fired Janke without cause, they gave him a severence of $50,000.

Lefty, I totally agree with you on your last ‘up on charges’ statement. Personally I wouldn’t marry one (a porn star), or any other chic, for that matter, but having one around, from time to time, certainly doesn’t hurt! By the way, the answer is Yes, BUT, for one reason or another, it would never last for very long. Sounds to me as if the rest a’ them cats were obviously just jealous. Just remember “gentlemen” - If you dismissed Mr. Janke for some supposedly puritanical religeous reason(s) - don’t forget the tenth commandment that clearly states: Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife’s ass!

Saw this on reddit a few days ago…the picture there made it seem like the guy should have been fired for dating(or mating) outside his species. Still, I fail to see how that affected his decisions concerning the town.

Small town politics are worse than those on the large scale.

oracle: you’re thinking logically again - haven’t I told you to STOP that? You shoulda seen it here when they were putting in an adult movie store. Pitchforks and torches and bible-thumpers (and men whose wives told them to).
