HEALTH NEWS TONIGHT:
Isn’t it amazing… all things old are new again. Research shows that listening to the right kind of music can slow the heart and lower blood pressure.
Do you suppose this was another patented EUREKA moment? Are we missing something here? Music soothing the savage beast and all?
Just don’t tell me to listen to opera to calm down. That will only agitate me.
Many smokers are too stressed by the hard economic times to attempt to give up their habit…
Wow, isn’t this the day for EUREKA moments in research? Presumably they’re also too broke to continue….
A UK ethicist says that people should take ritalin to boost their brain power.
Ok, so it was discovered that giving speed to the hyperactive kids helped them focus. It’s called a parodoxical effect. This medical person claims it should be given to non-hyperactive folks to make them smarter.
No potential for problems here… Besides…. ever hear of coffee?
(UK) Painkiller ban has cut suicides….
Well, that’s pretty nice. Isn’t it?
I don’t know the drug of which they speak but I watched something similar in the US. Remember the demon drug oxycontin? People were buying and stealing them for recreational use. Because they were using them incorrectly, some died. Because some recreational drug users died, people started crying to have oxycontin removed from pharmacy shelves. Some pharmacies stopped carrying it; not due to misuse but to robberies.
What was the end result? People with serious, chronic pain couldn’t get their medicine because some idiots misused the drug recreationally. Quite frankly, I don’t care how many recreational pharmaceutical users die from abusing prescription medicine. We owe it to people with serious pain to have their meds available.
Do you know what happens when people who are prescribed opioids can’t get their prescriptions filled? They go into detox. Nuff said.
Tobacco Use May Cause Brain Damage
I don’t make them up. But if I did, I’d have to think that people who light up dried, chemically-soaked leaves and take the smoke into their lungs have to have something wrong with their brains before the fact.
Don’t get me wrong, I support your right to smoke and to not have taxes added to your weed every thirty days…. I just can’t imagine doing it myself.
Ottawa Scientists Testing Synthetic Hormones For Menopausal Women
Excellent, Dear, now please close the window and come to bed. It’s two below zero out there.
For fans of Obama’s healthcare plan (both of you), here’s something to look forward to:
In Canada, the Wait Time Alliance noted that patient wait times have improved slightly only in five areas, those being hip and knee replacements, cataract operation, heart bypass surgery, magnetic resonance imaging and CT imaging and radiation therapy for cancer victims.
Meanwhile, the Obamachrist’s healthcare plan is lacking votes…. his plan would cut costs by rewarding quality care and limiting unnecessary treatments.
Hmmm…. sounds like the promises made by the HMOs those many years ago. The broken promises. Yes, HMOs were going to save the known universe.
Researchers claim depression not related to genetics.
So don’t forget to tell your parents they’re not depressed.
Sir Paul McCartney thinks he’ll live to be 100.
Not if he keeps up that vegetarian crap, he won’t…..
Just revealed: Steve Jobs had a liver transplant.
I wonder if they had to wake him to get his permission to play their ipods during surgery…
Obama wants drugmakers to clear the way for the faster introduction of generics.
He’s either incredibly brave or incredibly suicidal….
