I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of sodas with sugar, as opposed to high fructose corn syrup.  Pepsi announced a while back that this was coming.  It’s called Pepsi and Mt Dew Throwback and is available now.

From the advertising, it appears to be a test marketing experiment.

I got to try a Mountain Dew Throwback yesterday (I don’t like Pepsi so that review will not be forthcoming).  I like it.

It has a very fresh taste and there’s no aftertaste, that I can attribute only to high fructose corn syrup.

I got a text message over the weekend (this is the type of friend I have) to tell me that Snapple was going to use real sugar too.  Can’t wait to get my tastebuds on Snapple iced tea.

I haven’t heard much in the way of Coke news, but if I know business, if Pepsi sells more than two cases of Throwback, Coke will come out with their own version.  I sure hope so - I remember Coke when it had real sugar.

All I need to complete the trifecta is Mt. Dew Code Red with sugar.  I’ll be in sugar heaven.

I have to go now - I need chocolate.
