Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) Probably Molests Sheep

Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) has introduced a bill naming 2010 the Year of the Bible.

I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised, as a number of other farm animal molesters in Georgia want to keep prayer in school and have creationism taught there too.

Yet I find myself surprised anyway… go figure.

Follow along for a moment, please…  Congress is the body established with creating laws.  As such, they need to abide by the Constitution, as do we all.  Yet this particular legislative wonder seems not to have even the most passing familiarity with the Constitution, or at very least, the First Amendment.  (i’m betting it’s the entire document)

Or, perhaps in an everlasting moment of hubris, Rep. Broun prefers to consider himself exempt from existing law.  Maybe he just doesn’t approve of one amendment - who knows?

In any case, Rep. Broun has seen fit to leave his sheep buggering activities long enough to craft this fine piece of …. errr…..   legislation.

In a momentary lapse of insanity, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) said, “That’s an endorsement of religion by the federal government, and we shouldn’t be doing that.”

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION

“This doesn’t have anything to do with Christianity,” claims Broun.  Rather, it seeks to recognize that the Bible played an integral role in the building of the United States.

I call BS.

Another thing no one will find shocking is that Broun has fifteen co-sponsors, and they’re all republican.

ALL DISEASES CURED

It’s a wonderful thing that we have no more diseases to cure, no more financial issues, and the country has no problems at all.  The people of Georgia must be very proud.

I know one thing: the farm animals are for the bill.  If nothing else, it will keep Rep. Broun away from them for a while.

I’m going to call Rep. Broun and suggest he sponsor a bill to make 2011 the Year of Satan.  It’s only fair.
