Pelosi and Holder Continue Ignoring ‘Inconvenient’ Constitution

BELLEVUE, WA – Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on April 7 acknowledged that gun registration is on her agenda, days after Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters in Mexico that the Second Amendment would not “stand in the way” of administration plans to crack down on alleged gun trafficking to Mexico.

“These are alarming remarks from Speaker Pelosi and Attorney General Holder,” said Second Amendment Foundation founder Alan Gottlieb. “It appears that the Obama administration and Capitol Hill anti-gunners have dropped all pretences about their plans for gun owners’ rights, and it looks like the gloves are coming off.”

I have to give them credit: at least they’re not trying to disguise their agenda.  It’s an awful shame that we have no real press anymore and that people are too busy watching Americans Idle to even notice it.

It’s the Constitution, Stupid.

The Constitution, actually the Bill of Rights, guarantees the right to gun ownership, and I fully support that. It doesn’t, however, give any rights to hidden owwnership. I suppose it can be inferred, and my feelings are ambivalent here.

I don’t believe that traficking has much to do with individual gun ownership rights - this is putting more mud in already murky waters.

I also think that worrying about guns is a problem that is peripheral to the point. If the ‘war on drugs’ was abolished, and drugs made legal, much more than a simple majority of the problems would go away, and so much money would not get wasted enforcing antique ideas of conduct.

I don’t use drugs, nor would I , given a change in laws, but disallowing their use is part of the personal freedom that the stupid people masquerading as Republicans are supposed to believe in . Removing the restriction will be one way to restore the originating ideas of that party - imagine how many people might join a party that put the laws in line with their rhetoric !!!!

When drugs are made legal, much of the profit motive will go away, the violence will go away, and those who can’t keep their drug use in check will be easily corralled by the law enforcement, unimpeded by trying to enforce stupid, ineffective legislation. As a bonus, the prison reform everyone is speaking of will be unnecessary, as the prison populations will be reduced dramatically.
