The US has unveiled a $700 million plan to help the Mexicans fight the drug trade. Much of the money is going to tighter border security.

Where was the border security all along?
I realize $700 million is just another drop in the bucket for this fiscal wizard of a president and his slow and not particularly lovable pets in Congress, but will it ever stop?
Today Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner called for powers that would allow the government to take over struggling non-bank financial firms.
And struggling shopping malls and struggling auto parts manufacturers and struggling non-profits and struggling specialty footwear stores and struggling dog tutu manufacturers…. just you wait - any minute now Obama is going to announce several $800 million handout plans because we cannot afford to let the dog tutu manufacturers to go under (or the terrorists win).

It’s refreshing to see a group twist Congress’ almost non-existent nuts in public for once.
Obama says that his proposal to reduce the charitable tax deduction will help charities.
Exactly as the Patriot Act has made us more patriotic (and safer).

Oh come on! The PATRIOT act was never about patriotism. It was pure and simply marketing. The same used by BWM, Microsoft, IBM, Unitied Airlines, you name it.
Nothing is what it seems when marketing can properly twist the meaning to what agenda is needed at the time.

What would our founding fathers think of all this insipid bullshit??

…but not AIG vice-presidents who quit their jobs on principles.
