Computers in the Car

Just a short while ago it was announced that Ford would have computers in some of their cars and that the computers would have a Microsoft operating system. So naturally I got to thinking about the end result of this:
- you will have to reboot your car at least once a day
- you will not be able to download updates unless you purchase Ford Genuine Advantage
- after updates, the car will require a reboot (at 65mph)
- sorry that the car stalls in reverse: Microsoft will fix that in their next OS. You’re not entitled to it.
- have you seen those dashboard screensavers?
- yeah, your door goes DING when you close it: get used to it.
- look, it’s either the wallpaper or the turn signals - the engine won’t handle both.
- your car is not compatible with Road 2.0. Wait until Road 2.5 before driving.
- “Hey Mom… why is the car asking for a floppy? What is a floppy?”
- get ready for the Blue Dash of Death!
- “You got a spare bootable usb stick? I need to jump start my car.”
- “Dammit - I shoulda gone with a Chevy: they run on linux.”

If cars ran on OS X. There’s another funny post.
1. They would be really pretty but they’d never get anywhere.

Ah yes, but all the Macfans would claim that they looked MUCH better than anything else, including Linux (even though OS-X was based on a Linux variant).
