Kentucky - a Disaster Area

Ok, ok, moreso.
A county of sixty thousand is without electricity (it might be Graves County but I’m not positive). The National Guard is there. They are running out of water. There are shelters, but they’re running out of supplies. No fuel, therefore no pumps for water.
Trees and limbs are down all over the place. Yesterday they got two inches of ice topped by two inches of snow, with temperatures staying in the twenties.
Have you heard about this on the news?
Should it be this difficult to keep utilities flowing to a county of sixty thousand? Even in Kentucky?
Please send your thoughts their way.
[The information comes from a resident of the area. I lived in Kentucky when I was very young. Fortunately we escaped.]

Yeah, it’s bad down here. 473,000 without power as of yesterday. Trees and iced over and falling everywhere. Madison County is without power. It’s a mess.

I find it appalling that we had to find out about this your. No offense. I watch the local news and lately I have to agree with my husband. They seam much more interested in Hollywood and sports. I guess human suffering doesn’t bring in the ratings if it happens in rural Kentucky. These are truly sad times. Really enjoy your blogs. Your wit is razor sharp. thanks.
