Vermont doctor, Robert W. Hyde, was involved in one of the nation’s darkest chapters in medical science: In the 1950s, Hyde conducted drug and psychological experiments at a Boston hospital through funding that apparently originated with the CIA. Later, he became director of research at the Vermont State Hospital… In addition to patient Karen Wetmore’s claim, new evidence, though incomplete, suggests that such tests might have been conducted at the Vermont State Hospital.
Here’s some knowledge in the public domain but rarely talked about:
After World War II, the US, in its infinite wisdom, found out that the Russians were recruiting Nazi scientists. Not to be outdone, the US brought over just about every one they could find. This was under Operation Paperclip.
What did we get? Well, publicly we got Werner von Braun, who did wonders for our rockets. Privately it got ugly. You know all those crazy inhumane experiments the Nazis were carrying out? They were free to go about some of them when they were relocated to the US. The most egregious were the psychological (torture) experiments. With full backing of the CIA, all sorts of `interesting’ experiments were carried out, partially creating a lot of the mess society has to clean up today.
Mind control was high on their list. Unfortunately it can’t be affected without prolonged torture. That was apparently ok with the CIA too, even on children. Today we know that when exposed to repeated severe trauma in childhood (sexual and otherwise), children die, become dysfunctional, or develop multiple personalities. This multiple personality thing was pretty convenient for the CIA because it gave them the Manchurian Candidate: parts that didn’t know what the other parts were up to. Trust me, that movie was not fiction.
Just so you don’t think I’m making this stuff up, research Project Paperclip. (besides, I make up much more clever stuff but only in the humor vein)
BUT WHY WASN’T ANYTHING DONE?
It was. In the mid 1970’s, Congress was let in on the secret. I believe this was referred to as the Church Committee Hearings.
BUT WHY WASN’T ANYTHING DONE?
Because Congress was let in on the secret. They told the CIA this was Very Nasty Business and they should Never Do It Again (ok?).
The next time you make fun of someone for hearing the voices, remember that not everybody who claims the CIA is monitoring them is crazy.
Why do you think there was such an explosion of multiple personality disorder diagnoses? Why do you think there was such an effort to debunk multiple personality disorder/dissociative identity disorder? Why do we have so many dysfunctional people on the streets? Hint: your tax dollars helped pay to put some of them there.
Your government thought this was ok. They still do.

I’ve researched this, and I know it’s true. Part of my book deals with this subject matter. The Nazi scientists, under the auspices of the CIA, were allowed to experiment on unwitting American citizens. One even went mad and committed suicide after being dosed with LSD (It was the Nazis who discovered LSD and first started drugging death camp prisioners with it.). Dr. Frank Olson, affiliated with Army intelligence and the CIA, jumped out of a tenth-floor hotel window in November 1953 after being secretly dosed by Sidney Gottlieb, head of the CIA’s Technical service division. Numerous other casualties of the secret “psy-ops” were victimined by Gottlieb.
