Scientists plan to use satellite photos to count Giant Kangaroo Rats, the first-ever monitoring of an endangered species from outer space.
They want to use satellites. To monitor rats.
In case there was any doubt in your mind as to the resolution of the satellites we know about… the picture of the `thing’ makes it look like a hamster. The satellite can take pictures of a hamster. From outer space. Nice optics, eh?
People used to joke about satellites being able to read license plates. Now they don’t have to: new revenue enhancers….. oops…. I mean `traffic devices’ can do that for them.
And if this is the technology we know about….. the `other’ satellites can probably count the pores on your nose. That number goes into the Federal Nasal Database, identifying you for life. No two noses have the same amount of pores and the number does not change throughout your life.
I hope they got my good nostril…
