WIth all the crap in the news, including the glorious continuation of wealth transfer via financial institution, it’s positively heartwarming to note that Jean Belson, widow of Douglas Adams, asked Eoin (it’s anybody’s guess) Colfer to write the sixth book in the Hitchhiker trilogy.
Mr Colfer has written a number of books, including the children’s book series `Artemis Fowl’ (how the hell should I know?).
Not having read a single word written by Eoin (a-e-i-o-u), I can’t comment on the selection, other than to say that he’s (obviously) not Doug Adams. Since the dear departed Adams’ widow made the selection, who am I to complain. I just hope it’s in the ballpark of Doug Adams, one of my favorite authors ever. The man could play the english language like Jeff Beck plays the guitar. Oddly enough, Adams did play the guitar, and did so left-handed (just like yours truly).
So let’s hope for the best. HHGTG is a huge influence.
