Thing have started with a bang over in Minnesota.
Ramsey County authorities conducted raids across Minneapolis and St. Paul Friday and Saturday as a pre-emptive strike against disruptive protests of the Republican National Convention. pre-emptive strike…. that’s a uniquely republican concept, like in Iraq.
Five people were arrested and more than 100 were handcuffed, questioned and released… and released…
“This is not the way to start things off,” Thune said Saturday morning. “This is sending the wrong message. Regardless of how you feel about these people…they had a right to be there.” (St Paul city councilman Dave Thune)
If nothing else gives you the flavor and intent of the raids, this should:
On Saturday afternoon, law agents surrounded 951 Iglehart Av. in St. Paul where members of I-Witness Video, a New York-based group that monitors police conduct during protests, were staying. They were detained and handcuffed but eventually freed without charges.
Yes, this group doesn’t `disrupt’ or `engage in acts of civil disobedience’; all they do is monitor the JBTE’s (jack-booted thug enforcers). Goodbye, free speech - it was a privilege knowing you. Let’s all go home - nothing to see here. Back to our Free Speech Cages… errrr… Zones.

To say that this group doesn’t engage in civil disobedience is somewhat misleading. They may not be present to address the political issues; but they are certainly the most active once the batons start swinging.
