If you have a shortwave radio, you’re in pretty good shape to catch the amateur weather nets in advance of Gustav. They’re warming up now and will likely be in full swing early Monday morning. Don’t worry if you don’t have a shortwave radio - some nice folks have taken care of this via the web.
You can gather the advisory information from the National Hurricane Center web site at the following link:
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov
The reporting criteria and activation policy for the net during hurricane net activations can be found on the VOIP Weather Net web site at http://www.voipwx.net
To our friends, family, and everyone else in Gustav’s path: Be safe. Our thoughts and good will are with you.
