FBI Saw Mortgage Crisis Coming, Didn’t Stop It

Here’s one we didn’t see coming:  the FBI had warned, back as early as 2004, that low interest rates were attracting shady business types.  Fortunately the FBI was on the case, so we had nothing to worry about.

Now if you’ll stop your goddamn snickering for a moment, I’ll also tell you that the FBI was poised to prevent another major crisis like the Savings and Loan disaster.  (ok, you can resume snickering)

Although this was in fact the FBI’s job, they were apparently busy with other things.  You know - catching foreign terrorists and keeping the country safe.  That sort of thing.    So it appears that the FBI somehow failed to put a stop to yet another fleecing of taxpayers, while the rich got away without so much as a blink.

To sum things up, the FBI knew about criminal activity, yet no one put a stop to it.   Just like 9-11!

As Americans, we’re nothing if not blind to repeated rape of the same variety.
