Scientists from the university of Reading have created a simple wheeled robot with distance sensors that is controlled wirelessly by a network of cells from a rat’s brain. The sensor data is fed to the neurons which reside in a nutrient/antibiotic solution - the cells output is then transmitted to the ‘body’ as control commands. The images in the above video make it all look surprisingly simple
At first I thought it had somehow become April Fools Day and nobody told me.

Seems a bit unclear as to how exactly things interfaced but interesting reading nonetheless. As someone interested in electronics, this is quite fascinating. The discovery will lead to all sorts of mind/machine interfaces. Just think of what they can come up with…
P.S. Just joking about the president’s brain. Rat brain cells are larger and much easier to find.
