You’re absolutely gonna love this.
Most guitar pedals use 9v batteries or those annoying wall warts adapters. It is claimed that certain effects, most notably fuzzes, perform best not with fresh new batteries, but with older sagging batteries. With that in mind, here’s the schematic for a power supply to replace the batteries AND there’s a control to let you adjust the `sag’ to your personal tastes.
Eric Johnson is alleged to have said that he can hear the difference between regular and alkaline batteries in his pedals. Eric Johnson could probably do with a bit of Prozac and a few years on someone else’s couch.
* you may be asking yourself `what does leftystrat use to power his effects?’
To be honest, leftystrat uses the power supply built into his SKB pedalboard. He has never tried monkeying with the power to achieve tonal variations and is afraid of what would happen if he did. Rather than experiment with Prozac, he chooses to just leave the voltage alone.
