baking pan tube amp project

This is just too cool.
For you electronics geeks, here’s a project that will give you really decent tube sound using only two tubes. The tubes are 6T9’s, which house a triode and pentode in the same enclosure, giving you the preamp and power amp in one, per channel.
If you don’t fancy a baking pan, you can always use an old vacuum cleaner, a mailbox, or even a toolbox to build the guts into. Ugly knobs are mandatory. They can match if absolutely necessary but they have to be ugly.
I am not going to include the ubiquitous warning about high voltage circuit-building because you already know about it and because I really think it’s funny when people electrocute themselves.
There’s a circuit board available but we all know that Real Men<tm> don’t build tube amps on circuit boards. It’s a one evening job, including power supply (two if you zap yourself).
