file manager replacements

Every now and then, some site will put up their piece on file manager replacements. This particular one belongs to Lifehacker. I’m posting this because Lifehacker is one of my favorite sites of all time. You’ll always get good information, as well as the privilege of reading the arugments comments.
This article is a call for submissions, complete with commentary.
For the record, I use xfe and Konqueror on linux. The jury is still out on Windows, but I use x2explorer and xplorer2. I prefer dual-pane file managers on both OSes.
