not racist but…

I’ve been falsely accused of racism in the past. Maybe you have too.
The first thing that comes to mind is that I’m not racist: I hate everyone equally. I maintain the same level of contempt for all of humanity. I don’t hold any one group above or below the others. I’m an equal-opportunity basher. I hit all targets, regardless of attributes.
Well, almost.
I have to admit there is one group that really gets to me. One subsection of the populace that I do tend to single out above others.
Yes, I’m a stupidist.
I discriminate against the Stupid. I hold them up for ridicule more than others. They’re frequently the butt of my jokes or ire. They’re often the recipients of great amounts of sarcasm or my pointy little wit.
It’s not something I’m proud of…. although I do have to consider myself lucky, as it is not yet politically incorrect to hate the Stupid. I know my time is limited though, as at some point they’ll get a vocal little advocacy group going and not stop until it is completely politically incorrect to have a go at them.
I can see it coming…. I get called into Human Resources by my manager. I have to answer to the charges that I have made fun of the Stupid and it is now a violation of the Equal Opportunity laws. They will have no choice but to sanction me for my outrageous behavior.
Until then, go out and ridicule the Stupid. Each time you do could be your last chance.

I grew up in a racist family. My father is a self proclaimed racist. He is not afraid to let anyone know it either. Growing up in an environment like that made me a racist. I hated all black people growing up, only because they were black. “Niggers”, “Porch monkeys” and a variety of other derogatory terms were common in my home when referring to a black person. It wasn’t until I joined the Army that I learned just because someone is a different color doesn’t mean they are inferior. I now embrace all races for who they are, not what color their skin is. From time to time I find myself thinking poor thoughts about other races, but then I remember one of my best friends who had my back during Desert Storm and realize that man is, indeed, created equal, regardless of where you come from or what pigment you have in your skin.

Hi teddgcm… we don’t often hear stories like yours. Glad to hear your survived your father. I’ve observed that family seems to be the biggest factor in racism. If it’s all you see, you don’t know any better.
Remember - Chevy Chase said, “I don’t judge a man by the color of his skin. I judge a man by the size of his nostrils.”
