likely terrorist attack in 2009?

(CNN) — Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Democrat-turned-Independent who is a strong supporter of Republican John McCain’s White House bid, suggested Sunday the United States will likely face a terrorist attack in 2009.
What I find most interesting about this is that I’ve been hearing about it for a long time in other-than-mainstream news circles. Now I’m seeing a lot of it in mainstream news, including the above-referenced CNN (CIA News Network, so named because they let the CIA plant all sorts of news stories). Now we’re hearing this from all sorts of sources. I realize certain circles have a lot to gain from ratcheting up the Terror Factor, but the overall volume of this is way over the top.

It may not be over the top. If there IS a terrorist attack, and we are not prepared for it, that would be the worst thing ever, it would be horrible, and devistating. However, if we are prepared to handle it, even if there isn’t one, that kind of stuff is good to know. I think that terrorism is a bigger threat than people make it out to be. We COULD get attacked any day. That doesn’t mean we will, but I’d always rather be safe than sorry. I wouldn’t be able to handle it if somebody I knew was killed in an attack, especially if they were family.

Hi George.
Let’s remove any specific enemy from the equation and look at the practical. Can you tell me how we could protect ourselves from any general or specific attack?
Again, I’m not being specific to any group or flippant. What kinds of things would you like to see done in the name of protection?

This is a political maneuver to scare people into voting for John McCain. We are no more likely to be attacked in 2009 than today. We have always been venerable to attack….. maybe we have been attacked and don’t even know it. Look at the salmonella issue with tomatoes, this could be a terrorist attack. Seems nobody has an answer.

tomorrows date is 10/11/09 which is 9/11 backwards and even falls on the same day a tuesday.this could mean nothing but just incase.
