I just put up a permanent page on the blog called leftystrat’s guide to computer safety. It’s some free advice (advice being worth what you pay for it) about how to keep your computer safe online.

It’s primarily Windows-based, as that’s primarily where the problems are. The difficult part is that most of the problems involve educating computer users. Yes, malware writers are a clever and insidious bunch, but if we can educate those around us, we can limit the amount of grief. The problem is that some people don’t educate well (or don’t care). It’s like spam… the reason we have spam is that ten percent of us click on it.
