I am sorry to the many many people who have lost their lives in a mistaken sense of duty or patriotism.
(bet you’re not gonna hear THAT anywhere else for the holiday)
I feel bad that so many young (and not so young) men and women ran to join the armed forces after the (arranged) casatrophe on 9-11. Tens of thousands of innocent Americans lost their lives.
FOR WHAT?
They’re certainly not `defending our freedoms,’ as the mind-controlled masses believe. If they were defending our freedoms they’d be home; writing their congresscritters, voting, and trying to remove the criminals who are threatening our freedoms from office.
The Iraqis are not threatening our freedoms or way of life. That neighborhood has been chaos for a long time. We have no business there. We are not making a positive impact. Many hundreds of thousands have died. Many more will die.
Let’s dispense with the notion of patriotism for now, shall we? (it’s my blog)
As an old radio favorite of mine used to say - Follow the Money. What has transpired since 9-11? We sent people to die in Afghanistan and Iraq. Civil rights have disappeared at a record pace. As I type this, gas is at four dollars per gallon. Everything else is rising as a result. The dollar has gone to hell. The US is even more universally hated than ever. And we are within the claws of the most overtly corrupt administration in the history of this great country.
Where is the money?
Exxon posts larger record profits every quarter. Must be a coincidence.
Halliburton and friends have record no-bid contracts. Another coincidence.
Eighty million dollars per month goes to Afghanistan to fund the `hunt for bin Laden’. But the Afghanis aren’t looking for him.
Some idiot claimed he could fix things by refunding a tiny portion of our tax dollars. Please.
The Congress just approved another one hundred-twenty plus billion to fund the war. The war the Democrats got into office pledging to stop.
That’s where the money is.
I’ll tell you where the money isn’t.
It isn’t in the hands of the people who truly own it. Us.
Are you angry yet? Are you going to DO SOMETHING?
It was before my time but I remember the phrase `What if they gave a war and no one came?’
What indeed……
