E-Mail:

bush come clean?

On Friday night, in a national television interview, President Bush directly admitted what we have suspected all along: The White House was deeply and intimately involved in decisions about the CIA’s use of torture.

[deeply involved? they ordered it.]

I am convinced there has never been a more openly corrupt administration in the history of this great country. Yet we sit here watching Americans Idle…. blah blah blah….

For the first time, George W. Bush acknowledged that he knew his top national security advisers discussed and approved specific details of the CIA’s use of torture. “I’m aware that our national security team met on this issue and I approved,” he said. He also defended the use of waterboarding — simulated drowning where the victim feels like they are about to die.

Congress should long ago have gotten to the bottom of which top officials approved, condoned and authorized U.S. involvement in torture. But, now that the President has admitted to a policy of top-down torture, the ACLU is calling on Congress to demand an independent prosecutor to investigate possible violations of the War Crimes Act, the federal Anti-Torture Act and federal assault laws.

Tell your members of Congress - Don’t look the other way on torture. Take action at:http://action.aclu.org/site/R?i=13hE8sb5Hqf0b-OLy-1BKw..

Why is it that no one else has ever heard of this? Even the ACLU site is “not active”! Google search has no listing on it. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand Bush - I was hoping for something more against him! But if you have to post false info, what good is it???

Raymond-
When you’re invited to someone’s house for dinner, do you complain about the food before it arrives?

The reason I ask is that I post information and always quote the source. The date of the original post is 4/14/08 (2 months ago), at which point the link to the ACLU site worked perfectly (I check before posting).

Please do not come into my virtual living room and accuse me of posting false information. The link obviously went to a specific campaign they were running (I get their email alerts). If they’re not running it anymore, accusing me of posting false information is a bit of a logical leap.

I do appreciate that you took the time to read it, then did some additional research before commenting.

It has become rather obvious that even if I *had* made this up, it’s true. Very little goes on without the Commander-in-Chief’s knowledge or approval.

If you’re looking for some more interesting ammunition, read (or listen to) Richard Clarke’s `Against All Enemies.’ It’s a pretty stunning look into terrorism from a deep insider. He was in gov’t long before 9-11 and had allegedly been waving red flags about what was to come. He was largely ignored by the White House, whose agenda seemed to be invading Iraq, regardless of reason or proof.

Very interesting stuff.

Thanks for reading and commenting.
