revenge of the enemies of paranoids (or not)

After several long hard looks at my ailing Windows box, I have come to the conclusion that the problem is either the motherboard or processor.

Regardless of which, the problem is fatal.

Haha, I feel your pain. My trusty 4-year old computer is obviously 90-years old in dog years.

The original CD-ROM has long ago gone up to the big motherboard in the sky. This weekend the CPU fan fell over, making my system reboot every time I don’t catch it before the CPU overheats. So, I replace the fan and a RAM chip conks out (luckily the smallest of 3). Then I notice the little fan on my Graphic Accelerator card has arthritis.

If either my CPU or motherboard follows the trend, I’ll have to replace the entire box (old components stuck to an old motherboard). Argh!
